"... dinner was always a subject for debate: which of the many wonderful little restaurants in the area should we go to? a favorite was La Porta. We drove a pleasant 15-minute ride to Monticchiello and sat on the terrace looking over the valley, as Daria, the owner who speaks good English, guided us unerringly toward such treats as melted pecorino, wild boar carpaccio, and lemon ricotta cake."
